RANGE RULES AND REGULATIONS
General Club Rules
All members and guests must sign the Log Book and Membership Badges must be worn.
Only two (2) guest allowed per member. Fill out the guest envelope, enclose the $10 guest fee per guest, and deposit the envelope into the box. Guest badges are required and must be returned at the end of your visit. Multiple visit are allowed.
Your guest may never be left unattended and must be at the same range as you at all times. Remember you are directly responsible for your guest's actions.
Hearing and Sight protection is required at all firing ranges.
It is up to all members to enforce the Range Rules. If there is a safety problem that cannot be resolved by the members, please contact the Club's Safety Director with as many details as possible.
No minors under the age of 10 will discharge any type of firearm. Minors over the minimum age must be under direct adult supervision at all times.
All firearms must remain cased when transporting from your vehicle to the firing range.
All firearms must be in accordance with New Jersey State Law. NO fully automatic firearms.
NO alcoholic beverages on Club property.
1. NO SHOOTING! Place your firearms on the bench, unloaded with the action open, and step away from the bench.
The range is considered CLEAR. Shooters may go down range to post or retrieve targets.
Absolutely NO handling of firearms or related items .
3. When approaching the range under a Green Flag condition, all firearms must remain cased until the line goes " HOT" (RED FLAG).
1. When the range is "HOT" absolutely no one may be forward of the firing line and shooting is permissible.
All persons on or near the firing line require ear and eye protection.
When approaching the range under Red Flag condition, firearms may be uncased and placed on the bench or in the rack.
Range flags must be posted at or near your shooting position at all times.
Be aware of the range conditions. When changing Flag conditions, make sure all shooters are in agreement.
All target material must be placed with 3 feet of the backstop. If you want to shoot closer, you will walk up to the target.
This procedure was explained during the Orientation Class.
No Cross Bay Shooting. Line up straight with your target.
Post targets on the suspended backers only; not on any of the support structures.
In the event of a misfire, wait the recommended amount of time and dispose of the round in the misfire tube located behind the
shooting benches.
Please clean up your shooting position and remove all target material from the backers.
PLINKING: Use designated ranges only. Use material that will not create a hazard to you or other members. NO glass or
explosive materials. Remember the 3 foot rule and please clean up when finished.
The minimum safe distance for steel targets is 50 yards and must swing freely. Do not place any steel targets against
anything solid. You must observe this minimum safe distance for your safety and the safety of others.
This is a controlled fire range. Extreme, uncontrolled, rapid firing will not be tolerated.
Any caliber center fire rifle may be used. It must be capable of shooting accurately at this range.
Use paper targets only. Remember the number of your backstop.
No caliber restrictions, center fire or rimfire.
Rifled slugs and muzzleloaders of any gauge or caliber may be used.
All handguns must be capable of shooting accurately at this range.
No caliber restrictions on rifles, muzzle loaders, slug guns or handguns.
Use the Shotgun Bay only to pattern buckshot or birdshot.
Plinking is allowed. Use the proper procedures as described above.
1. Reserved for handguns and .22 caliber Rimfire rifles only.
2. You may pattern shotguns at the shotgun bay only.
3. Use paper targets only. NO PLINKING of any type.
Use the range flags at the entrance of the course.
Use target tips only. 3-D or broad head targets may be used, but they must be placed directly in front of the target butt.
Use caution when retrieving or looking for lost arrows. Always check behind the target before shooting.
NO TRAP SHOOTING ALLOWED ANYWHERE ON CLUB PROPERTY.
